Test Setup

We've updated our X299 test rig to include MSI's new MEG X299 Creation and Corsair's new H100i RGB Platinum, which will be our new cross-platform cooler, but the rest of the system is largely identical to our Threadripper gear, with 32GB 3,000MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB memory, Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Amp! Edition, and Samsung 960 Pro SSD. We use an up-to-date version of Windows 10 64-bit with the latest Spectre and Meltdown-related security patches installed.
